The thread home

This work is for those moments when you no longer quite feel like yourself.

You’re still living it. Still doing what needs to be done. But somewhere along the way, the life that once fit you has begun to feel different.

Soul Woven grew from my own experience of finding my way through those times. Writing, painting, cloth, and the body became ways of staying connected to myself when I didn’t know what came next.

Three ways of listening

Writing

A word becomes a door. A story becomes a way to recognize what you already know.

Visual Art

Color, movement, and symbol give form to what language cannot yet hold.

Cloth

The tactile rhythm of thread: one quiet stitch, then another.

In the studio

A place to begin before knowing.

I come here to paint, write, work with cloth, make books, sit with the dogs, stare out the window, move things around, abandon things, begin again.

I can begin with what is in front of me and see where it leads.

Some days I make something.
Some days I don’t.

You don’t need to know how to paint. Begin with color, movement, and the willingness to follow what draws you.

Portraits

A Soul Portrait isn’t a likeness of your face. I listen to your story and allow color, image, movement, and symbol to emerge from what I encounter in you.
